sitting here at 2am trying to absorb as much information as possible. funny how i have 50 tabs open on my safari as random thoughts enter my head, and i need to take reference of the visual imagery before me to stimulate my creativity. this is how i work, i can't seem to focus on one project when my mind is *ALWAYS* generating a flow of ideas in my head.. and i just have that need to record my thoughts down as they come to me.
i record them in illustrator, i draw my concepts and write them with my tablet. i record them in a text editing program. i record them in my blackberry. i record them down in paper (today was funny, i couldn't find paper so I used whatever white space i could find in the local flyers)
this semester has been quite a challenge for me, really got me into thinking critically AND reading. i've done so much reading for the past few weeks trying to come up with a solution, searching for that answer...yet the simplest approach and a possible direction I could take and should've realized sooner.. was to just have that conversation with someone who wasn't in design... an insightful sibling of mine.
i guess sometimes you just need to immerse yourself in conversation instead of being caught up in your own bubble, because sometimes, you're designing for practicality... that sometimes abstract thoughts might be TOO abstract and conceptual.
i guess sometimes, i keep forgetting you gotta look at life for inspiration and just live it. embrace it. take notice of the life surrounding you.
