February is hearts month, courtesy of Valentines Day.
Found some quotes about love that I found rather beautiful. I love bittersweet ones for some odd reason:
I guess it reminds me of this guy that I was totally in love with for the longest time, I couldn't tell him that I liked him, I guess I was too scared of getting rejected or jeopardizing our relationship as friends...Sometimes I thought things would've been different if I told him how I really felt. But now, he's happily engaged and I wish for him nothing but happiness.
To my unrequited love, I want to say these words to you:"Sometimes, i wish you would pay more attention to my favorite songs because the lyrics they sing, are the words I'm too scared to say."
"Do you know what is the farthest distance in love?"
"Death and Life."
"No."
"Heaven and Hell."
"No. It is when you are standing in front of person yet you can't tell them how much you love them."
"I can't talk to you anymore, it's not that I am mad at you, it's just that when I talk to you I realize how much I love you and when I realize how much I love you, I realize I can't have you and that makes me love you even more"
"Loving you is like touching a star........ I know I can never reach you, but I can’t help but try."
“You never lose by loving. You always lose by holding back.”
"When the rain falls on my head, I wish you'd fell for me instead."
"The face is the mirror of the mind, and eyes without speaking confess the secrets of the heart."
To the one I love, my best friend, my everything:"When they asked me what I loved most about life, I smiled and said you. "
"I shouldn't spend my life with someone I can live with. I should be with someone I can't live without."
"If for every single time you make me smile, I would pick a star from above... I would have the whole sky in my hands."
"You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep, because reality is finally better than your dreams."
"I don't claim to be able to shield you away from every blow this life may take at you. I only wish to stand with you against the miseries of life. We may not be able to change the world but as long as I have you, that won't matter to me at all. "
"Meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you was beyond my control"
"There’s something about the look in your eyes.. Something I noticed when the light was just right... It reminded me twice that I was alive... And it reminded me that you’re so worth the fight."
"Love is like playing the piano. First you learn the keys, then you learn the rules. Then you leave the rules and play by what's in your heart."
"If, out of the time, i could pick one oment and keep it shining, always new, of all days that i have lived, i'd pick the moment I met you..."
A goodbye to a broken-heart:"Oftentimes we say goodbye to the
person we love without wanting to.
Though that doesn’t mean that
we've stopped loving them or we've stopped to care.
Sometimes goodbye is a painful way to say I love you."
A true long distance relationship:When I was complaining about a “long distance relationship between Kobe and Kyoto”
Grandmother smiled and said “I’ve been in a long distance relationship for 20 years now”,
Grandfather in heaven, did you hear that?
ALL ABOUT LOVE:“It’s so easy to think about love, to talk about love, to wish for love, but it’s not always easy to recognize love even when it's right in front of us."
"To love is nothing...to be loved by someone is something...to be loved by the one you love is everything..."
"Don't find love, let love find you. That's why it's
called falling in love, because you don't force
yourself to fall, you just fall. "
Somewhere out there, there is someone who is meant to be the love of your life, your bestfriend, your soulmate.. the one you can tell your dreams too, he'll smile at you when you tell him, but he will never laugh at your heart. he'll brush the hair out of your eyes & send you flowers when you least expect it. he'll call you to tell you goodnight just before you get into bed, or just because he's thinking about you. he'll be bursting to talk to you each morning, just to hear the sound of your voice, he'll look into your eyes and tell you that you are the most beautiful girl he's ever seen & for the first time in your life, you'll actually believe it.
Food for thought:As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts. You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, and no second chances. you just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all; live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back.
Feb 13 '10 highlights:
On to my AN-crew outing:I was indulging myself with ONIGIRI~! that's right, those japanese rice balls that are in a triangular shape, courtesy of Manpuku.. went to the restaurant today with my AN-crew, which I love to death! for our annual "gathering" we really should hang out more often, I find that we miss each other too much if we do an annual hangout type of thing. I'm glad that all these 8 years, we're still going strong, met them since 2002. I thought one of them, Jayb wasn't gonna show up, I was logged on msn through my phone to see if he may have forgotten because I sent him a text message but no reply.. and when I did, I saw him and he was online, and then I messaged him, but still no reply!!! So when I finally met up with everyone, I was the late one... *surprise!* everyone was already there! So we had our udon and takoyaki...all things that makes me want to visit Japan someday.
I hope we're able to cheer our friend up, just came from a breakup and as obnoxious as I can be trying to get him to laugh, I hope I was able to help him forget and work on what's important with his life at the moment, finding his true self before he jumps into another relationship, and truly finding out what it is he wants to do with his life that is worth his time and effort.
As for my dearest friend who's a single pringle: If your heart is open, love will always find it's way in..maybe the right guy for you is just around the corner, he just got lost and was too lazy to buy GPS ;P
Now on to my Feb 14 '10 preparations:
So I had this amazing idea, to top off Valentines Day last year... I thought I could learn to play a love song piece on a piano, (i don't play the piano so this is quite a challenge for me) record it on video and edit it with special effects and all and hand it in to my bf... put together pictures we've taken and have a video collage... or maybe I'd register a star for us, and we could name our star together... so each night if we're apart we could look at the same sky and the same star, our star, and make wishes that the other one is well... but then I thought maybe I should just settle down for 365 hershey kisses, a kiss everyday for a year, unless he becomes greedy and has a couple or more per day.. LOL! Due to time constraints and the whole day of Feb 13 was spent with my AN-crew, to which I begged them if they could help me put together a video where I would sing the song "Nothing's gonna change my love for you" because I find that it's one of the classic love songs that this local karaoke bar had.. BUT that plan was such an epic fail =( Now with a few hours till V-day and nothing yet prepared, I guess I lose this time around. I still have the morning to come up with a miracle ;P My special someone wanted to just watch the movie Valentines Day on Valentines Day... but why not do something different since we always do movies every tues.. even back to back if we're able to skip class. I don't know we'll see what happens tomorrow.
falling in love should be like polaroids.. instant! (LOL)

So I finally got to watch 500 days of summer, Summer being the main girl in the story, I wasn't sure if I would call her a protagonist in the film, but this movie is full of ironies. All I know is that I definitely couldn't stand the girl's "coolness" about relationships, and how she was just going along with the flow, but other than that.. the movie is artistic visually, good score.. and I warn you, the movie is not a love story, it's a story about.. Love. Joseph-Gordon's character is cute though, he's those typical, love is like how you see it in the movies, beautiful, the romance..throughout the film we learn things, fall in love with the characters see things in a whole new kind of light. It's an enchanting, interesting film.

Up in the Air, I highly recommend this movie, for its witty humour and awesome performance by the cast. George Clooney's character was someone who was content from being disconnected from the world, him flying almost 365 days a year symbolizes the freedom he enjoys from not having to be grounded with commitments, as he makes public speeches about travelling with a backpack...
"How much does your life weigh? Imagine for a second you are carrying a backpack. I want you to pack it with all the stuff you have in your life and start with the little things the shelves, the drawers, the knick knacks... then start adding larger stuff, clothes, tabletop appliances, lamps, your TV...backpack should be getting pretty heavy now..And you go bigger, your couch, your car, your home. I want you to stuff it all into that backpack.
Now I want you to fill it with people. Start with casual acquaintances, friends of friends, folks around the office, and then you move to the people that you trust with your most intimate secrets, your brothers and sisters, your children, parents, and finally your husband, wife, your boyfriend, your girlfriend...and you get them into that backpack...feel the weight of that bag. Make no mistake your relationships are your heaviest components in your life. All those negotiations and arguments and secrets are compromising. The slower we move, the faster we die. Make no mistake, moving is living. Some animals were meant to carry each other to live, symbiotically over a lifetime, star-crossed lovers, monogamous swans—We are not swans, We are sharks."
What a truly brilliant film, we meet a cast of interesting characters along the way, this movie is a story about LIFE, and its many ironies. What a treat, it's been quite a lot since I've watched movies that I truly found that's worth my time.
YOUR UNIVERSE: I'll always be the lucky one
Tell me something
When the rain falls on my face
How do you quickly replace
It with a golden summer smile?
Tell me something
When i'm feelin' tired and afraid
How do you know just what to say
To make everything alright?
I don't think that you even realize
The joy you make me feel when i'm inside
Your universe
You hold me like i'm the one who's precious
I hate to break it to you but its just
The other way around
You can thank your stars all you want but
I'll always be the lucky one
Tell me something
When i'm 'bout to lose control
How do you patiently hold
My hand and gently calm me down?
Tell me something
When you sing and when you laugh
Why do i always photograph
My heart flyin way above the clouds?
